August 22  thru August 28, 2014     7 days—6 nights

FRIDAY, AUG. 22    Departing from Camden, we’ll spend today getting to know each other and letting the
excitement build as we travel Columbia, MO by motorcoach where we will overnight (Meals included today:
D). You will see a “Meals” guide at the end of the day’s events.  “B” is breakfast,  “L” is lunch, & “D” is
dinner.  Today, for example, dinner is included in your tour price.

SATURDAY, AUG. 23    After a delicious breakfast at our hotel this morning, we’ll head westward on into
Kansas. We’ll first visit the boyhood home and burial place of our first “Lawmaker” – President Dwight
Eisenhower.  The Eisenhower Museum includes a Visitors Center, boyhood home and the “Place of
Meditation” –Ike’s and Mamie’s burial tomb. Tonight we have a very special meal in store for you.  We’ll
overnight here in Abilene. (Meals:  B & D)

SUNDAY, AUG. 24    After a hearty breakfast, put on your boots and strap on your six-shooter ‘cause we
going to Dodge City.  But first, before we leave Abilene we’re going to visit a very special place; “The
Greyhound Hall of Fame”.  (I’m talking puppies – not buses).  You’ll be greeted by retired Greyhounds and
enjoy their building dedicated to the memory of the champion breed.

Now it’s on to Dodge City….Matt – Chester – Festus – Miss Kitty – Doc Adams and Wyatt Earp - They’re
waiting on us.  First we’ll check into the Dodge House Hotel where we’ll spend the next two evenings. Our
first adventure here will be a tour of the Dodge House where a Gunsmoke TV set is on display plus an
antique bar with a bullet hole in it (see if you can find it).

Next we’ll head to the Boot Hill Museum.  Here we’ll explore the museum, walk the boardwalk, maybe enjoy
an ice cream, have some old time photos taken, drink a Sasparilla in the Long Branch Saloon and visit the
top of the hill where the remnants of Boot Hill Cemetery is located.  A Gunsmoke exhibit is there, too

Getting hungry?  Dinner tonight is in the Occident Saloon.  And we’ve heard there’s going to be a shoot-
em-up just outside after dinner and if we’re still standing afterwards we’ll move on over to the Long Branch
Saloon and see Miss Kitty and her “girls” put on their variety show. Wow…busy day.  Now back to the
hotel for a good nights rest because we have another busy day tomorrow in Dodge City. (Meals: B & D)

MONDAY, AUG. 25    After a breakfast fit for a cowboy, a real cowboy named Anthony will join us and give
us a historical tour of Dodge City on our bus.  Afterwards, a retired Deputy Marshall (Charlie Mead) will
show us the Trail of Fame Tour.  After lunch, we’ll return to our hotel for a couple of hours to relax and
freshen up for dinner.  Tonight’s dinner is in a real western style restaurant.  (Meals:  B & D)

TUESDAY, AUG. 26    Another cowboy breakfast today before we head to Oklahoma City.  But first, en-
route, we going to see Dorothy’s House in the Land Of OZ.  Yes, we still on the trail of lawmakers – The
Wizard of OZ was in charge of the law in OZ.  So on we go. A “cute as a button” Dorothy will serve as the
guide for our tour.  While touring the house with squeaking floors and ghastly wallpaper, Dorothy will
remind us that Auntie Em saved hair in a jar and Uncle Henry had only one pair of shoes.  Then it’s on
outside to “follow the yellow brick road”.  Surprises here…and great fun  We’ll overnight in Oklahoma City.
(Meals:  B & D)

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 27    We’ve turned our bus homeward, but we’ve still got a lot of cowboys and
lawmakers (and law breakers) to deal with. This morning we’ll visit the National Cowboy and Western
Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City with over 10,000 artifacts from the old west.

Then it’s on to Fort Smith, Arkansas.  This is our last night on the road, so let’s hope you’re not caught on
the opposite side of the law and have to go before Judge Isaac Parker – The Hanging Judge.  We will visit
Miss Laura’s Social Club still housed in a former bordello brothel.  HAVE MERCY!  Afterwards, look
forward to a special dinner with entertainment .   (Meals:  B & D)

THURSDAY, AUG. 28    Well, our last day.  Those of us who made it thru the night had a good breakfast
and we’re headed homeward.  We’ll arrive in Camden at approximately 6 p.m.
