Day 1: Tuesday, February 19, 2019
Tonight we fly out of Nashville for our overnight flight to Cairo.

Day 2: Wednesday, February 20, 2019
Arrive in Cairo late afternoon.   
Tonight’s an evening of leasure to catch up on that must needed sleep.

Day 3: Thursday, February 21, 2019
Cairo, Egypt – Tour Begins your first full day in Cairo.  But after our overnight flight we’ve left this day open
for your to rest up or go exploring on your own. (B)

Day 4: Friday, February 22, 2019
Cairo - Giza - Sakkara - Memphis! This morning we travel to nearby Giza where we’ll visit to the Pyramids
of Giza, one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. Then the iconic Great Sphinx, one of the oldest
and largest monuments in the world. Later we’ll  travel south to Sakkara and explore the site of ancient
Memphis, home to a nearly 40-foot statue of Ramses II, and stand before the oldest of all pyramids, the
Step Pyramid. This evening, enjoy a special welcome dinner overlooking the banks of the Nile. (B, D)

Day 5: Saturday, February 23, 2019
Cairo - Luxor  We’ll spend this morning discovering the remarkable collections of the Museum of Egyptian
Antiquities. See the statues, reliefs, sarcophagi and the treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun himself.
Then, head  to the airport for our domestic flight to Luxor. (B)

Day 6: Sunday, February 24, 2019
Luxor Hang on. Today we travel thousands of years into the past by crossing over to the West Bank of the
Nile to begin your day in ancient Thebes. Explore the Valley of the Kings and Queens, the Temple of
Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, and the Colossi of Mennon. This afternoon, return to the East Bank
and behold the Luxor Temple, a creation of kings Amenhotep III and Ramses II. (B)

Day 7: Monday, February 25, 2019
Luxor – Board Cruise Ship This morning we head to the tombs in the Valley of Nobles and the well-
preserved temple complex of Medinet Habu. This afternoon, we’ll board our “long-boat” cruise ship and
begin our 4-day adventure down the Nile River. This evening, we’ll enjoy the sound and light show at the
Karnak Temple. (B, L, D)











Day 8: Tuesday, February 26, 2019 Luxor - Esna - Edfu
This morning, we’ll visit the expansive Karnak Temple, dating back to 2000 B.C. Then we begin our sail
down the Nile towards Esna on your way to Edfu. This evening, dress up and join the fun during a
traditional galabaya party. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Wednesday, February 27, 2019
Edfu - Kom Ombo – Aswan  You’ll step into another world at the well-preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu.
See the endless carvings of scenes depicting the power and grandeur of the pharaohs. After lunch we’ll
set sail for Kom Ombo and continue to Aswan, the Nubian City. Following dinner, you’ll enjoy a folkloric
show featuring a belly dancing performance. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Thursday, February 28, 2019
Aswan Visit the Philae Temple. Relocated and preserved by a special UNESCO project, this structure
remains an architectural wonder. Later, enjoy a free afternoon to explore Aswan. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Friday, March 1, 2019
Aswan - Disembark Cruise Ship - Abu Simbel Disembark the ship this morning in Aswan! You will board a
felucca (wooden sail boat) and sail to the lush oasis of Kitchener Island for a short stroll through the
botanical garden.  (B, D)

Day 12: Saturday, March 2, 2019
Aswan - Cairo Today you return to Cairo. Having admired the magnificence of the Giza Pyramids and the
Sphinx in the bright desert sun, we’ll return and see them from another perspective at an evening sound
and light show. These grand monuments towering into the night sky are at thei
r most mysterious when illuminated by a spectacle of lights. Enjoy listening to fascinating stories of the
ancient days of the Pharaohs and the creation of the pyramids accompanied by a haunting musical
background. This evening will be spectacular with its light show. . (B, D)

Day 13: Sunday, March 3, 2019
Cairo Today we visit the Citadel, a medieval fortification resting on a hill overlooking the city. It’s the perfect
place to take in grand views. Learn about the city’s rich history on a walking tour of Old Cairo before
enjoying some free time to shop in the world-famous souk of Khan el Khalil. Perhaps you’ll stop for a
traditional cup of tea. Then join your fellow travelers this evening for a farewell dinner. (B, D)

Day 14: Monday, March 4, 2019
Cairo - Tour Ends Your epic adventure comes to a close today. We’ll fly home with a new understanding of
this mystical land and, of course, a bunch of new souvenirs (B)
