let’s take a look at all the adventures we’ve planned for you.
• Friday: Dinner on the Old Kentucky Dinner Train
• Saturday : President Lincoln’s Birthplace & His Boyhood Home, Plus The Corvette Museum
FRIDAY - “ALL ABOARD”! That will be the cry of the Conductor as we climb on-board for a trip back to
“yesteryear”. A full five course gournet dinner is in store for you in the nostalgic dining cards with their fine
china, white tablecloths, bud vases with a flower on each table, hanging lamterns, red velvet window
curtains, elegant brass, polished mahogany, with our servers all decked out in their finest tuxedos.
You won’t even have to close your eyes to pretend that you’re back in the 1940’s with these vintage dining
cars from the ‘40’s pulled by a 1950 L & N Railroad engine, just like the trains that stopped at the depot in
your hometown. Our travels will take us by several of Kentucky’s famous distilleries; Jim Bean, Old Barton,
Ole T. W. Samuel’s & more. Rugged farmland, ranches and the hillsides of Burnheim Forest will pass our
windows while we’re dining. As we near Jackson Hills, our Engineer will slow the train down as we cross
the timber trestle, 300 feet long and spanning a 60 feet deep revine. It’s the end of the line so be sure to
watch how they turn the train around for our return journey to Bardstown.
Our ride and dinner is over so now we journey to our luxury hotel for a restful evening
before tomorrow’s adventure.
• SATURDAY: President Lincoln’s Historic Sites & The Corvette Museum
After breakfast it’s back on board our coach for the trip home, but our adventures are far from over. Our
first stop this morning will be at the boyhood home of President Lincoln. Then, on down the road a bit, we’
ll tour the “dirt floored” log cabin birthplace of President Lincoln that we’ve always heard about.
After lunch, we’ve planned an exciting stop that everyone will enjoy, especially the guys! We’re stopping at
the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This 68,000 sq. ft. building houses more than 50
Corvette models and one-of-a-kind concept cars. Also on hand are thousands of Corvette related photos,
movies and videos, advertisements, scale models and memorabilia.
You’ll especially enjoy the classic Corvettes in period settings such as an old timey 50’s style service
station, etc. Another highlight will be the actual one-millionth Corvette, produced right here in Bowling
You’ll also see some of the Corvettes destroyed in the sinkhole.
