WALTON’S MOUNTAIN TOUR HIGHTLIGHTS
Earl Hamner wrote Walton’s Mountain based almost entirely on his young life while growing up back in a
simpler time.  You’ll actually see the “Walton” house & Ike Godsey’s store (yes, they actually do exist).  Then
we’ll enter the old  school the “Walton’s” attended, which has now been turned into a museum, where you will
see an exact replica of John Boy’s bedroom, the living room and the kitchen with the
large table you saw on TV, and more.

.·        Sunday:  We’ll leave Camden at 7 a.m. and point our motorcoach northeastward as we continue our
annual quest for Broadway’s best plays. As always, our late model coach will be complete with large picture
windows for unobstructed viewing, reclining seats, individual climate controls, VCR monitors, and a bathroom
for your comfort. We’ll make regular rest stops and a lunch break each day of this tour.
We’ll overnight in Virginia.  (Dinner included tonight)

·        Monday:       Today we’ll head toward New York traveling from Virginia thru West Virginia, Maryland and
Pennsylvania and into New Jersey & New York where we will check in to our New York City area hotel for the
next three evenings.  Our hotel is right in the middle of the Theatre District.  .(Breakfast & dinner).

·        Tuesday:     Today we’ll start our morning with a motorcoach tour of New York City.  We’ll be joined by a
local guide to give us a complete NYC tour including the locations listed, and more. Uptown, downtown, and
all around town, we’ll see it all.  Your play will be at 8:00 p.m. this evening. (Breakfast included today)

·        Wednesday:  This morning we’ve left open for you to enjoy more “free time” in Manhattan.  Take in
some of the interesting shops along Times Square, see where the “ball” drops on New Years Eve, take a stroll
down to Macy’s or over to Fifth Avenue where the rich & famous shop.  No telling who you might see.  Keep
your eyes peeled.  Your second play will be at 2 p.m. today and third fourth will be at 8:00 p.m.    (Breakfast
included today)

·        Thursday :  This morning we’ll head to Washington, D. C. where we’ll see the locations listed on the
front of this brochure. A local certified guide will join us this afternoon to whisk us around town and share their
knowledge and wisdom of the area. We’ll depart our coach for many of the attractions (Memorials, etc.)  Other
sights will be pointed out as we drive by (such as the homes on Embassy Row). (Breakfast & dinner included
today).

·        Friday:   This morning we’ll head to Walton’s Mountain, Virginia and see the actual home that  “John
Boy” and the family grew up in as well as their school, Ike Godsey’s store and more.  We’ll overnight again in
Virginia. (Breakfast & dinner included today).

·        Saturday:  Sadly we’re heading home with an estimated arrival time in Camden at approximately 6 p.m.
Today we’ll have our fun contests, watch movies, play games, and give away door prizes while we travel
toward home. (Breakfast included today.)
