SUNDAY – APRIL 30TH - We'll leave Camden from our departure location at the Wal-Mart store, Highway
641 N. in Camden. We'll arrive in New Orleans late-afternoon at our French Quarters area hotel.

MONDAY – MAY 1ST After our delicious breakfast, we’re doing something very exciting…….
WE’RE GOING TO SCHOOL --- COOKING SCHOOL, THAT IS!.
We’re going to the famed New Orleans School of Cooking. Here we will be treated to an entertaining chef as
he prepares our 3-course lunch right in front of us. Oh, and just wait until he prepares our special dessert –
After our delicious hot lunch, we'll board our coach for a full day of adventure. This afternoon we’ll board
swamp boats and listen to our hearts pound as we creep into the still waters of the Louisiana wetlands. From
the comfort and safety of our boats, we’ll travel deep into the bayous and learn about the fascinating people
who make their homes in the swamps and the animals that live there. Bring your camera and lots of film. We
should encounter egrets, white-tailed deer, mink, nutria, and, of course, we’ve never been on a swamp tour
without meeting face to face, eye ball to eye ball, nose to nose, jaw to jaw with those “nice, friendly and
handsome” gators. We might even let you “pet” one.
Then tonight it’s our dinner cruise on the Mississippi. Wonderful food – Wonderful Dixieland Jazz – and, well,
just Wonderful Views as we sail the Mississippi. Built in 1925, it’s the last authentic steamboat still sailing the
Mississippi. (Meals: B, L & D)
MONDAY – MAY 2ND After our delicious breakfast, we'll board our coach for a full day of adventure. A
local, professional tour guide will join us this morning to give us a look at the New Orleans that we've only
heard about. Centuries old architecture sets the scene for a tour through the city. Our guide will usher us
through the city's most fascinating neighborhoods & landmarks all the while sharing interesting facts & fabled
stories you'll never forget. The French Quarters, Jackson Square, the Cabildo, historic Esplanade Avenue &
St. Louis Cemetery, the “city of the dead” with its above ground tombs are just a little of what we’ll see on this
After our lunch break, we’ll head out to the Oak Valley Plantation. Established in 1837, and listed on the
National Register of Historic Places, it’s one of the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi
River Valley. Costumed guides will intrigue you with the legacy of the plantation and historic events that
occurred at this site. And, believe me, you will certainly enjoy the gift shop here. (Meals: B)
Now it “French Quarters” time. You will have plenty of time to tour the Quarters – Take a Carriage Ride –
Have A Delicious Dinner – Shop For Souvenirs – Have A Beignet – Or Just People Watch.
TUESDAY – MAY 3RD - Today will finish our memorable journey arriving in Camden at approximately 6 p.m.
allowing us plenty of time for movies and, of course, a good nap or two. (Meals: B)
